Paula (she/her) brings a gentle, compassionate & curious approach to each session, working from a trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive, and strengths-based framework to create a safe, supportive space to help clients
Paula is an accredited mental health social worker offering psychotherapy & counselling to adults. Paula works with individuals experiencing a range of issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, grief & loss, sexual assault, family violence recovery, relationship issues and particularly interested in supporting clients navigating complex trauma/PTSD. Her therapeutic approach is a unique blend of somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment/relational theory, trauma-focused acceptance and commitment Therapy (TF-ACT) and EMDR.
She draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, such as:
• Trauma-focused Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
• EMDR (level 1)
• Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
• Hakomi mindful somatic psychotherapy
• Mindfulness
• Relational formulation (cognitive analytic therapy)
Paula brings a social justice, intersectional lens that acknowledges the impact of systems and structures on experiences of marginalisation and identity and her practice is culturally responsive and committed to providing trauma sensitive, neuro-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ safe care.
